Insight Circles
A nourishing space to pause, breathe and release into your own wisdom.
I’ve been noticing something lately.
So many people are tired… not just in the usual “I could use a nap” kind of way, but deeply, soulfully drained.
It’s like we’ve all been running on empty for too long. Our minds are scattered. Our bodies tense yet we keep going because there’s always someone or something that needs us.
Something in you whispers… I can’t keep pushing like this.
That whisper is the reason I created Insight Circles.
I wanted to create safe spaces for soulful rejuvenation where like-minded souls could slow down, stretch out, breathe, reflect, and reconnect with their inner spark of life.
So, what is an Insight Circle?
An Insight Circle is a guided group experience I’ve uniquely designed, blending movement, creativity, and meaningful connection.
Part circle, part sanctuary… Insight Circles weave together grounding yoga-based practices, reflective journaling, creative expression (like drawing or collage), and spacious group sharing.
Don’t worry, this isn’t about being flexible, artistic, or sharing that we have our shit together.
It’s simply a place to connect, be curious, be real, and hear the quiet wisdom inside us.
There’s no pressure to perform, no advice-giving, no fixing, just a compassionate space to land, tune in, and notice what’s really going on beneath the surface. It’s deep, but also surprisingly simple. Spacious and grounding, with a touch of magic.
You don’t need to be fit, flexible, creative, or comfortable with groups, just open to giving yourself a little space.
There is this moment, maybe halfway through, where you realise you aren't clenching your jaw or bracing anymore. You felt calm in a way you haven’t felt in months
What does an Insight Circle experience feel like?
-
… and are captured by the soft lighting, the cosy cushions and thoughtfully arranged mats. It’s warm and welcoming. Unrushed. Just being in the room, something deep inside you exhales.
-
… inviting you to arrive and be present with grounding breaths and the most nourishingly simple movements. You’re guided inward with tenderness, to notice how you’re feeling, not through the lens of critique but with love and compassion. A rare and welcome break from the usual pressure you put yourself through.
-
…you begin to soften, the tension you’ve been carrying slowly loosening its grip. Thoughts that once raced through your mind begin to settle as you pour them onto the page, old patterns surfacing with fresh clarity. Some people gently rise to share, while others choose the quiet of listening. You feel no pressure either way, only warmth and acceptance. As you listen, their stories land like echoes of your own. Even in silence, you feel seen, heard, and held in a shared understanding that needs no explanation.
-
…something begins to shift. You stop pushing past your own needs and start honouring them with care and compassion. Self-care takes on new meaning, beyond bubble baths and surface-level fixes. A deep desire for a more honest tending to who you are and what truly sustains you is pulsing.
-
Time bends. Clarity begins to rise, and with it, the space to dream, to imagine, to feel fully alive again.
By the end, something deep within has shifted… your body feels lighter, your soul more grounded. You leave with a renewed sense of clarity and connection, realigned with yourself in a way that feels steady and true.
What may shift in an Insight Circle?
Most people arrive feeling overwhelmed, scattered, or a little disconnected from themselves. They leave with softened shoulders and a quieter mind. They feel lighter. Clearer. More like themselves again.
By offering you the space to pause, breathe and do less, Insight Circles create gentle but powerful shifts. Here’s what can shift in just one Insight Circle:
Mental clutter transforms into clarity
The noise quiets. Your thoughts untangle. You start to see what really matters… and what can wait.
Overwhelm becomes insight
Instead of forcing answers, you listen in. Your own wisdom rises. Your thinking becomes clear and more confident.
Chronic tension begins to melt
Your jaw unclenches. Your breath deepens. The tightness griping your body starts to release.
Burnout gives way to inner alignment
You stop pushing and start tending. By tuning into your centre, what actually sustains you, you create change that doesn’t just feel good… it lasts.
Who it’s for
Insight Circles are for anyone who:
Has been juggling way too much for way too long
Has been running on autopilot but craving something more real
Wants to reconnect with themselves but don’t know where to start
Is fed up with superficial self-care or productivity ‘hacks’
Is ready to let go in a deeper, but gentle way
Whether you’re neurodivergent, queer, introverted, burned out, or just quietly craving space to feel, you’re welcome here.
Who runs the Insight Circles?
That would be me. I’m Jo. I’m a coach, a healer, an Inner Spark Awakener.
I create spaces for people who feel they are stretched way too thin, to release the weight of expectation, their own and everyone else’s, to pause, breathe, and come back to what’s true.
I’ve spent over two decades helping people navigate change, in workplaces, in leadership, and in life. I weave together facilitation, coaching psychology, art, yoga therapy, and a whole lot of lived experience as a queer, neurodivergent human who lives with complex trauma.
Insight Circles grew out of what I’ve needed and often couldn’t find: a safe space that is welcoming, supportive and healing. Where you don’t have to fix yourself or have the right words. Where reflection is embodied, not just in your head. Where it’s safe to be exactly who you are.
Because the more we can trust our own inner spark… the more everything else begins to shift.
Some key details that are good to know
How big are the groups?
Usually 10 people, I like to keep the group sizes relatively small
How long do the Insight Circles run?
2 hours. The Insight circle itself runs for 90 minutes. Doors open 15 minutes before the Insight Circle, and there’s time to gather and chat over a cup of tea afterwards.
Where do the Insight Circles run?
The in-person Insight Circles currently run on Gadigal Land (Sydney, Australia). I’m looking at running online Insight Circles in the future.
Do I have to speak or share?
Nope. There’s never any pressure. Listening is just as powerful.
Is this a yoga class?
Not in the traditional sense as I include a range of other activities. A typical circle will include guided breathwork, gentle movement, reflective journaling, and space for optional sharing.
Is it therapy or coaching?
No. While it will feel deeply healing, this is not therapy or coaching. It’s a space to pause, stretch, reflect, and reconnect.
Is it okay if I’m not creative?
Absolutely. The journaling and creative bits are about expression, not art or outcomes. And they are completely personal. They are for you to explore your creativity, and you don’t have to share with anyone if you don't want to.
Is it a safe space for Aboriginal, queer, neurodivergent, or trans folks?
Absolutely! Yes. 100%. Insight Circles are held with care, trauma-awareness, and genuine inclusivity.
Are men welcome to participate?
Yes, what’s not accepted is dickhead behaviour.
Insight Circles are a gender-inclusive space, open to anyone who values reflection, kindness, and being real. I want it to be welcoming for everyone, especially trans women, trans men, nonbinary and gender fluid people.
So, if you’re a cis man (or woman) and you’re open-hearted, inclusive, and willing to share space respectfully with people of all genders, you’re absolutely welcome.
What if I get emotional?
That’s absolutely okay. Emotions are welcome here. You don’t have to hold it all together.
Ready to join in?
Come as you are… curious, tired, hopeful, unsure. It’s all welcome here.
There’s nothing to prepare, just step into the space, take a breath, and let yourself relax. The rest will unfold naturally.
If you’re not sure if it’s for you, hit the button to get in touch. I’m always happy to chat.
Frequently Asked Questions
What actually happens during an Insight Circle?
Each Insight Circle is a gentle, nourishing experience designed to help you reconnect with yourself. You'll move through a guided flow that includes grounding breathwork, simple movement, mindful journaling, quiet reflection, and heartfelt conversation. It’s not about fixing or pushing… it’s about listening, softening, and creating space for insight to emerge naturally.
Do I have to speak or share?
Nope. Sharing is always optional. You're welcome to simply listen and be part of the energy in the room. Many people find that just hearing others speak helps them feel seen and connected, even without saying a word.
Is this like group therapy or a coaching session?
Not quite. While the Insight Circle can be deeply therapeutic and insightful, it’s not therapy. There’s no analysis, no advice-giving, and no pressure to “work on” anything. It’s a space for personal reflection, embodied awareness, and connection at your own pace and comfort.
Will there be yoga? What kind of movement is it?
Yes, there is movement but it's gentle and accessible. Think of it as mindful stretching or a moving meditation. You don’t need to be fit or flexible. Everything is invitational, and you can always adapt or rest.
Do I need to be creative?
Not at all! Any creative elements, like drawing or writing, are all about having fun and exploring self-expression, not performance or skill. You don’t need any experience. This is about play and presence, not making something “good.”
Is this spiritual or religious?
Insight Circles are not tied to any religion or belief system. The experience is grounded in mindfulness, embodiment, and nervous system regulation. You’re invited to bring your own meaning to the space, whether that’s spiritual, secular, or somewhere in between.
How structured is the Insight Circle?
There’s a gentle structure to guide the experience, but it’s held lightly. There’s room for the energy of the group to shape what unfolds. You’ll always know what’s coming next, and the pace is designed to help you feel grounded, not rushed or out of control.
What if I get emotional?
If it happens, it’s what you need. Emotions are welcome because they carry so much insight. This is a space where you don’t have to hold it all together. There’s no pressure to explain or justify anything, just breathe, be, and know that you’re held in a kind, non-judgmental environment.
What should I wear?
Anything comfortable that you can move and sit in easily. Layers are great in case the room is warm or cool. No need for yoga clothes unless that feels good for you.
Do I need to bring anything?
Just yourself. If it’s in person, you might want to bring a journal, a water bottle and anything else to accommodate your specific needs. I’ll provide yoga mats, cushions, and the key things you’ll need for any creative activities. If it’s online, you’ll get a short list of suggestions to help you set up a cozy space at home.
Is this a safe space for queer or neurodivergent folks?
Yes. Absolutely. Insight Circles are created as inclusive, trauma-aware spaces with room for all kinds of identities, brains, and ways of being. You’re welcome here, just as you are.
What if I can’t sit on the floor?
We can easily work with that. I can make sure chairs are available, or you can bring your own if you have specific needs. You’re encouraged to do whatever helps you feel supported and comfortable, whether that’s sitting, lying down, or adjusting the movement as needed.
What if I feel uncomfortable or need to leave?
You’re free to step out or take a break at any point. You won’t be judged or called out. This is your time, and you’re always in charge.
How long does it go for?
Most Insight Circles run for around 2 hours. Some extended or themed Insight Circles may go a little longer and you’ll get all the details ahead of time so you know what to expect.
How many people will be there?
Circles are intentionally small and intimate, usually between 6 and 12 people. Enough to feel connected, not so many that you feel lost in the crowd.
Is this online or in person?
For now, they are just in-person. I will be arranging online Insight Circles in the future. The invitation or event page will clearly state which it is. Online Insight Circles will be designed to feel just as warm and grounding as in-person ones, with lots of care in how the space is held.
How much does it cost?
Prices vary depending on the type and length of the Insight Circle. You’ll always be informed up front, and there’s no upsell, just genuine value for your time and energy.
Can I come late / leave early?
It’s best if you can arrive on time and stay for the full experience as the opening and closing are an important part of how the circle holds its shape.
That said, life happens. I ask that you arrive on time to ensure the space isn’t interrupted once the circle has started. And, if you need to leave early, just let me know, ahead of time if possible.
What kind of shifts can I expect?
Most people leave feeling lighter, calmer, and more connected to themselves. The aim is for you to leave with the space to think clearly, permission to honour your own needs, and a deeper trust in your own wisdom.
Do I need to come regularly?
You’re welcome to drop in for one Insight Circle or come regularly whatever suits your life. Many people find that regular attendance helps them stay grounded and intentional, but there’s no pressure or commitment.
How is this different from a yoga or meditation class?
Insight Circles weave together breath, movement, reflection, and community in a way that’s more integrative and expansive than many yoga or meditation classes.
